But even in such a scenario, Microsoft has addicted that it would ensure that these SD cards are \"locked\" and are not replaceable. How \"cool\" is that?

At the ongoing MIX10 conference at Las Vegas, Microsoft has officially announced the rebranding of the Windows Mobile Marketplace to an obvious moniker, Windows Phone Marketplace.

While we all knew this was coming, little was known how the UI and the entire store would look like. Now, that is a thing of the past with Microsoft releasing quite a some screenshots of the Store with details.

According to Microsoft, The Windows Phone Marketplace will have \"a panoramic design and active merchandising\", and will support operator billing. This means, if Microsoft has a tie up with your service provider, you can be billed for the apps on your monthly bill. There will be one-time card purchases and ad-funded applications as well. Customers will also be able to try apps before purchase - which is obviously a rattling good thing.

Microsoft has also announced free development tools for Windows Phone 7 Series like Silverlight, XNA Game Studio 4.0, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone, Windows Phone 7 Series Emulator (for app testing), and a Windows Phone 7 Series add-in. The apps will support accelerometers, hardware-accelerated video, multi-touch, Microsoft Location Service and Microsoft Notification Service.

Microsoft has announced the launch of its Silverlight papers designed to work with Symbian S60 devices at the ongoing MIX10 conference at Las Vegas.

This is the prototypal time that Microsoft has bought the Silverlight papers to a non-Microsoft mobile platform. Silverlight is a cross papers feat of Microsoft's .NET Framework for creating interactive applications for the web on desktop computers and of late, mobile phones.

Microsoft seems to be aware of the fact that Symbian is, by far, the biggest Smartphone papers out there and for the same reason, will help extend the reach of Silverlight. While we are yet to see the prototypal applications based on Silverlight for Symbian devices, there is an increased hope that we wouldn't have to wait such for the prototypal ones to start trickling in.
