Gear4 BluFM Offers Bluetooth For Your Phone Calls and FM Transmission For Your iPhone

MP3 FM transmitters and Bluetooth speakerphones are nothing new. The combination of two, though, is something that seems to have alluded most manufactures. Gear4s newest offering, the Gear4 BluFM offers just that.

Simply plug in your MP3 player and jam out to tunes via the FM transmitter. Pair it with your phone and when theres an incoming call, it should cut the music and transmit the callers voice over the cars speakers via the FM transmitter.

One question remains: will this thing work with an iPhone much like the iSonTalk? The jack probably isnt compatible with the iPhones recessed input so youll have to address that with an aftermarket adapter.

Available here for $98.

Plantronics Intros 925 Bluetooth Headset

Plantronics introduced their newest Bluetooth headset this week, the 925. The device is available in a variety of colors including Onxy Black, Alchemy Gold and Cerise Pink (what the hell is wrong with pink and gold).

It sports a unique VFrame design, which is intended to contour to the users face for better voice quality for the caller. The device utilizes a proprietary noise reduction technology for enhanced call quality and should get a 5 hour talk time on top of an additional 5 hours with the on the go charging case.

Available from major retailers for $150 starting April 2008 (black only). Other colors due in May.

Jabra BT8030 bluetooth headset works as a speaker too

While the kids at the back of buses everywhere may already be aware of the fact that headphones can act as speakers if turned up loud enough, the rest of humanity tends to keep the volume down, and is therefore unawares.

Jabra has latched onto this concept and created the BT8030, which can act as a bluetooth headset when you're on the move, and then switch into a speakerphone mode for Skype at your laptop.

The speaker / headphone combo will also play music over Bluetooth, lasting up to 26 hours in music mode, 32 hours in talk mode, and sitting in standby for up to 25 days. It'll retail for $249.99, although we're not sure when you'll be able to pick one up.

The Best Bluetooth Headset Ever

I've owned more Bluetooth headsets than I can count. First there was the Jabra-200, then the Jabra BT-800, then a couple of Motorolas, then a Nokia HS-11W...anyway, each one had nice features and a few things here and there that kept it from being the "killer" Bluetooth headset.

The Jawbone was designed by Yves Behar (we never heard of him before either) and curves to fit the outline of your face. It can be worn on either ear, and charges via USB and comes with multiple earloops and an AC adapter. So what makes it the best Bluetooth headset ever?

The Jawbone measures ambient noise around you, enhances your voice and adjusts the volume to make every call sound crystal clear. The Jawbone has two microphones and a voice activity sensor and when placed against the cheek it detects and enhances vibrations instead of picking up the sound from your mouth. Not only does the Jawbone eliminate background noise from your call, but as ambient noise changes it also seamlessly adjusts the speaker output so you can hear your callers voice better.

It's the best Bluetooth headset I've ever owned and has excellent battery life. I can drive with the windows down and the radio on and still hear everything the person on the other end is saying, and they can hear me just fine. The Jawbone comes in red for the extroverted, black for the introverted, and gray for the undecided.
